Femi Adesina, the special adviser to president Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that the president is willing to grant ex-president Goodluck Jonathan audience, should he sought to make clarifications in view of the $2.1billion arms deal scandal which is under investigation.
Adesina made the disclosure in an interview with The Punch on Saturday, January 16.
According to him, President Buhari believes in civility, and at such he would give former president Jonathan listening ears.

A junior secondary school student from Anambra state, identified only as Chinecherem, has already impressed thousands of Nigerians by single-handedly constructing a mini duplex house.
A Facebook user, Ugochinyere Doreen Obi, shared the photos of the architect-to-be on January 8:
“Ran into this boy this evening at Ozubulu, Anambra state. You won’t believe, this boy single-handedly constructed this duplex, this such a talent that won’t just die.”

A group of Christian clerics have donated plastic kettles and prayer mats to some mosques in Kaduna metropolis. The gesture is in a bid to promote religious tolerance, better understanding and peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria.
Pastor Yohanna Buru who led the clerics, said the items which are to be used for prayers, is a means of strengthening peaceful co-existence and religious tolerance in the country.

Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, has been caught on tape using an officer of Nigeria’s secret police, the State Security Service, to clean his shoes in public.
A video sent to PREMIUM TIMES by one of its readers showed the minister, dressed in white gown, relaxing on a couch with his legs stretched out.
The SSS officer appeared from the sides, with a handkerchief in his right hand and a holstered service pistol protruding from his jacket.
He was shown stooping before the minister, using his left hand to lift Mr. Dambazau’s right leg, slightly above the floor to clean his loafers.
The minister bent his head to notice him, before looking away to focus on the event unfolding in a distance.

An aide to the PDP leader, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, confirmed to SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday that Anenih made the disclosure.
The aide said, “The former BoT Chair explained to the EFCC that he gave his account details to the ex-President on request, when he requested for a refund of expenses incurred while (he was) carrying out Jonathan’s instructions. Jonathan passed it (account details) to Sambo and Anenih was paid the sum of N260m.

There are strong indications that the Defence Headquarters will this week set up a panel on its officers who are being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged fraudulent arms purchase. 
The 11 serving officers that will be investigated by the EFCC, who will also face the military panel, include Air Marshal A.M. Mamu (Chief of Administration, Nigeria Air Force); AVM Oguntoyinbo (former Director of Production, Defence Headquarters); AVM T. Omenyi (Managing Director, NAF Holdings); and AVM J.B. Adigun (former Chief of Accounts and Budget).

Sources in the Senate told the Sunday Tribune that the lawmakers were more than alarmed at the revelation that the Budget document submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari grew wings shortly after its presentation and was resubmitted through the back door.

CBN had hoped to buoy foreign currency supply from independent sources through the de-freezing of foreign currency deposits, and hence help douse the pressure on exchange rate which had accentuated last week.
