Waje is female Nigerian musician who came into spotlight in 2008 after being featured in a couple hit singles which includes Psquare- Do Me and others.. She is an award winning singer who has multiple hit singles to her name also. She is quite known for her amazing voice.

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

Waje was born in Akure, Ondo State in Nigeria then moved to Benin City, Edo State and was raised by her parents. She was the first child and the first daughter in her family. Her parents got divorced when she was young, and had to overcome difficult situations.

Waje attended the Word of Faith Group of Schools and joined the choir. As a young singer she once sang gospel tunes to the delight of the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa of Church of God misson int. Archbishop Benin was quite impressed by her singing and decided to help her throughout her whole secondary school days. She then moved to Nsukka to receive a degree in social work at University of Nigeria. During her school years, Waje focused on her musical works such as school concerts and fellowships. She listened and learned from her mentors such as Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin to improve her music.

Waje's vocal range covers three octaves. She was found singing in church as a young lady whose love for humanity led her to study social work at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). Being very productive whilst in school, Waje worked part-time in tourism. She however still believed she could touch a lot more with her singing talent. This gave her the drive to stay focused in her first love, music. In 2007, Waje decided to take the next step and fully launch her music career. She was still a student at the time and paid her dues by doing lots of free shows and gigs, singing at every given opportunity.

CAREER AND LIFE

In 2007, Waje decided to launch her music career. Though she still was a student, she sang at every given opportunity.
She what she said about her coming to the music industry here:
Professionally, I started singing in 2007 and that was when I did a re-mix of P_Square’s Omoge Mi, which I called Bobo Mi.

Prior to this, I was with an eastern–based label called Dome. I met them when I was young, 19. They helped to groom and nurture me, but I left them this year.

We had a contract but I did not release any album with them, but I had two singles, Somewhere and Kolo released on their label. Kolo was originally recorded by MTV Base.

In 2008, Waje featured as the female voice in P-Square’s hit track “Do Me”. Afterwards, her singing career boosted further as she participated in Advanced Warning (a reality TV show which featured artists that are on the verge of a breakthrough) and came out as the first runner up. The show was organised by MTV Base South Africa and ZAIN Nigeria.

Waje has shared the stage with various international artists such as Wyclef Jean in South Africa, opening for Kerry Hilson during a show organised in Calabar. She also participated in the remake of P-Square’s “Omoge Mi” and collaborated with M.I on "One Naira", with Dencia on "True Love" and with Banky W on "Thief my Kele" among others.

In 2013, Waje released her self-titled debut studio album. Several her songs have received a number of award nominations and winnings.
In 2014, Waje was nominated four times at the World Music Awards: World Best Album, World Best Live Act, World Best Female Entertainer and World Best Entertainer.

Waje is currently working with the youths of her community through an organization she calls WajeSafeHouse, where she teams up with other NGOs quarterly to help fight for their cause.
Waje has a daughter, Emerald, who was born when Waje was 17 years old. The name of Emerald's biological father remains unknown.

Although, not denying the potential partner in her life, Waje is so open about her 16-year-old{as of 2015} daughter. Now that she could freely talk about being a single mother, Waje said it wasn’t that easy when she was pregnant with her daughter at the age of 17. Since she got pregnant at such a tender age, most  people would easily surmise that the singer could have been a ‘bad girl’ when she was young.

She said: “I will not lie to you, I didn’t know anything. I was just a young girl. I was so naive and innocent. It wasn’t easy in those days. I was laughed at. I was given a nickname. I will not tell you the nickname. But the truth is that I was scorned.”

But no matter the challenges she faced, Waje said she would be grateful to her mother who saw her through the trying period.
Quoting her:  “My mother is a mother. She is a true mother. I don’t know what I would have done without her. She stood by me. She never discouraged me. I tapped from her strength. It was her strength that carried me on all through those years,” she said.

Waje has also made an acting debut on the movie called Tunnel (film), with Femi Jacobs, Patrick Doyle, Nse- Etm, Lepacious Bose, and others. This is a 2014 Nigerian drama film directed by Stanlee Ohikhuare which is a story about a young pastor's life, journey and his fulfillment.

She sang in her church's choir, and joined the drama club while in secondary school. Growing up, Eva was fond of drawing and reading books.

At age 10, she wrote a short story in her notebook, and dreamt of being an author. After learning of Eminem, she began to write rap verses. When asked in an interview the influence of being of two different country in her music;
You have a Nigerian and Sierra Leonean parentage. Has that influenced your career?
I believe that it is a great privilege to have mixed parentage. It allows you to be more tolerable of other people. For me, this opportunity to have many cultures within my family and other people has opened my mind to a lot of things. It has given me more boldness to express different thoughts. I use Hausa and pidgin in my lyrics. It is a necessary blend because I feel different people from different places would be able to relate with me.

Don Jazzy liked the songs.

She was technically in the pipe-line for consideration for 8 months. They worked and created songs together to see the chemistry between the rest of the crew and her. After Don Jazzy confirmed her talent he offically signed her to the record label.

Do people think they can intimidate you because of your size?
Yes, but the mind is a beautiful thing. I am such an odd human being and my mind really helps me. If someone comes to me as a lion, I can literally turn them to a pussy cat by my imagination and they will not look so scary anymore. I feel we try to intimidate people, not because we are mean or wicked, but because it is all we have. It is something that is innate; maybe because we feel the world is not big enough for all of us or we should not all do the same thing. We have to realise that the world is big enough for others. We may not be as successful as the other man, but if we realise that, we will live and do all that we do.

In 2010 she was featured on the NEA award winning track with Jhybo titled Ejo le Fe Ro Run Dia mouth. This track gave her instant recognition and fame natiowide Nigeria.

CAREER AND LIFE

P-Square brought her into the family. After her collaboration with Jyhbo in the song Run their Mouth She became quite popular and they were wondering who this young talented girl was. P-Square became a big fan and finally she met them with Jude in Atlanta in 2012.  That was how the relationship started, later her manager called her to say that Jude wanted to sign her to his record label and for him to want her means much because she knew he had said he was not going to do anything with any artiste again after the whole issue with May D.

With a re-brand on her image and sound, she released her much anticipated singles in Nigeria on July
9th, 2012 titled High High High and Ojoro. With the release of these songs, Cynthia Morgan trended
worldwide for 10hours and also trended in Nigeria for 48hours.The singer also reveals her sexy edgy
look. Both singles shows Cynthia Morgan’s versatility. Critics reviews High.High.High as a complete
package of the beautiful artist. It shows all three sides of her, Singing, Rapping and Partua flow.

In August 2013, Cynthia Morgan signed a recording contract with "Northside Entertainment Inc." owned by Jude 'Engees' Okoye, brother to Nigerian pop singers P-Square. Few months later, she released two chart-topping singles "Don't Break My Heart" and "Lead Me On" which got positive reviews from fans; the latter went on to be nominated for "Best Reggae/Dancehall Single" at The Headies 2014.

Her reaction to not getting incentives on the record deal she signed with Northside;
I signed a different kind of contract. A lot of people would be interested in the cars, houses and other things, but I was more concerned about the platform. Getting a car, houses and lounging doesn’t mean you would blow in the industry because it doesn’t mean you would be well placed. Besides, at the end of the day you could get carried away by the glamour. The freebies came with the contract, but I said no because you will still have to pay back. It is better for me to work hard and get what I want myself.

She later released another hit single in 2014 "I'm Taken" which received a lot of acceptance from fans and had massive air-plays with the video trending on YouTube same year.
She continued with her form of singing in 2015 and released another banging single "German Juice" which increased her fan base and made her a lot more famous, her music career really got promoted in 2015.

Cynthia morgan is type of celebrity who shares different types of raunchy pictures in the social media, she's quite known for her controversial pictures.

See her reaction to that in an interview when asked why she does that;
Personally for an artiste, besides music,you have to be creative when it comes to your branding, your pictures, your performances and stage craft. Pictures are part of the things that brand an artiste. A lot of people say different kind of stuffs, but when you start something in Nigeria or in Africa, people start talking. We are in 21st century and Nigeria is not like America.
We still have this mentality of ‘Oh my God, she is exposing a whole lot of stuffs’ but when American artistes do it, we get to embrace them. I think it’s all about you starting your own trend, people will definitely talk, some people will love it while some will hate it .It’s all about you knowing what you see as an artiste.
When I create a song , I can actually create the video in my head.   So,  it’s all about the craft and the branding .I wasn’t actually nude, I was wearing a tattoo and a pair of snickers. It’s just about being different and people are definitely going to talk. It’s part of the whole business. If they don’t talk, you don’t make money. So they     just have to keep talking.
 Cynthia is also known for her fashion, she said she bought a 12million naira wristwatch, which was quite not believed by fans, well she may have really bought it.
In 2014, a raunchy photo of her and singer Dammy Krane surfaced online which got fans thinking they are dating. She later said they are not dating.
She  also mentioned in one of her interviews about having a crush on supersar singer Davido.
Read Interview Below:
Who is your celebrity crush?
That will be Davido, because for me he is hardworking. Over the years he has been able to prove himself that he is talented and not all about being just a rich kid and I think he is cute too.
What if he asks you out and says he loves you?
Cool, but because I have a crush on him doesn’t mean I want to have a relationship with him .But if he says :’Oh my God! I love you.’ We can work something out.
