EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

Born in Benin City, the South South of Nigeria. Her music is a fusion of Pop, Hip Hop, Rap and Dance Hall. She also calls herself Killa Marshal which is her alter Ego. Killa Marshal is a much crazier, sassy and raw side of her.Cynthia Morgan grew up to become a singer, song writer and composer. She went on to record her debut single at the age of sixteen, getting airplay and interviews for local press in her hometown Benin City. Her professional passion and love for music started at the age of 3, She started in the children’s choir, after which she moved to the youth choir and later joined the Christian Union choir.

She was raised by a single mother who is now a top music gospel artist in Benin City, Nigeria. Her upbringing was a rough and a tough one. She was rejected by her father when her mom was 20 years old and pregnant and also after child birth.
According to her she had a beautiful childhood where her mum was firm yet loving; she played the role of a father to her siblings and her. She is her biggest fan.

At the age of 16years, Cynthia Morgan decided to go into music professionally. She released her first singles at the age of 17years right after completing High School and got massive recognition and love from fans all over Nigeria. She grew up around musicians and back up singers from her mother’s musical band since the age of three. She then moved to Lagos, Nigeria in 2008 to pursue her career.
She hasn't completed her university education. She took a break to concentrate on her musical career.

In 2010 she was featured on the NEA award winning track with Jhybo titled Ejo le Fe Ro Run Dia mouth. This track gave her instant recognition and fame natiowide Nigeria.

CAREER AND LIFE

P-Square brought her into the family. After her collaboration with Jyhbo in the song Run their Mouth She became quite popular and they were wondering who this young talented girl was. P-Square became a big fan and finally she met them with Jude in Atlanta in 2012.  That was how the relationship started, later her manager called her to say that Jude wanted to sign her to his record label and for him to want her means much because she knew he had said he was not going to do anything with any artiste again after the whole issue with May D.

With a re-brand on her image and sound, she released her much anticipated singles in Nigeria on July
9th, 2012 titled High High High and Ojoro. With the release of these songs, Cynthia Morgan trended
worldwide for 10hours and also trended in Nigeria for 48hours.The singer also reveals her sexy edgy
look. Both singles shows Cynthia Morgan’s versatility. Critics reviews High.High.High as a complete
package of the beautiful artist. It shows all three sides of her, Singing, Rapping and Partua flow.

In August 2013, Cynthia Morgan signed a recording contract with "Northside Entertainment Inc." owned by Jude 'Engees' Okoye, brother to Nigerian pop singers P-Square. Few months later, she released two chart-topping singles "Don't Break My Heart" and "Lead Me On" which got positive reviews from fans; the latter went on to be nominated for "Best Reggae/Dancehall Single" at The Headies 2014.

Her reaction to not getting incentives on the record deal she signed with Northside;
I signed a different kind of contract. A lot of people would be interested in the cars, houses and other things, but I was more concerned about the platform. Getting a car, houses and lounging doesn’t mean you would blow in the industry because it doesn’t mean you would be well placed. Besides, at the end of the day you could get carried away by the glamour. The freebies came with the contract, but I said no because you will still have to pay back. It is better for me to work hard and get what I want myself.

She later released another hit single in 2014 "I'm Taken" which received a lot of acceptance from fans and had massive air-plays with the video trending on YouTube same year.
She continued with her form of singing in 2015 and released another banging single "German Juice" which increased her fan base and made her a lot more famous, her music career really got promoted in 2015.

Cynthia morgan is type of celebrity who shares different types of raunchy pictures in the social media, she's quite known for her controversial pictures.

See her reaction to that in an interview when asked why she does that;
Personally for an artiste, besides music, you have to be creative when it comes to your branding, your pictures, your performances and stage craft. Pictures are part of the things that brand an artiste. A lot of people say different kind of stuffs, but when you start something in Nigeria or in Africa, people start talking. We are in 21st century and Nigeria is not like America.
We still have this mentality of ‘Oh my God, she is exposing a whole lot of stuffs’ but when American artistes do it, we get to embrace them. I think it’s all about you starting your own trend, people will definitely talk, some people will love it while some will hate it .It’s all about you knowing what you see as an artiste.
When I create a song , I can actually create the video in my head.   So,  it’s all about the craft and the branding .I wasn’t actually nude, I was wearing a tattoo and a pair of snickers. It’s just about being different and people are definitely going to talk. It’s part of the whole business. If they don’t talk, you don’t make money. So they     just have to keep talking.
Cynthia is also known for her fashion, she said she bought a 12million naira wristwatch, which was quite not believed by fans, well she may have really bought it.
In 2014, a raunchy photo of her and singer Dammy Krane surfaced online which got fans thinking they are dating. She later said they are not dating.
She  also mentioned in one of her interviews about having a crush on supersar singer Davido.
Read Interview Below:
Who is your celebrity crush?
That will be Davido, because for me he is hardworking. Over the years he has been able to prove himself that he is talented and not all about being just a rich kid and I think he is cute too.
What if he asks you out and says he loves you?
Cool, but because I have a crush on him doesn’t mean I want to have a relationship with him .But if he says :’Oh my God! I love you.’ We can work something out.

                                                     DECEASED
                                                            (1533-1610)

INTRODUCTION

Amina of Zaria commonly known as the warrior queen, expanded the territory of the Hausa people of north Africa to the largest borders in history. More than 400 years later, the legend of her became the model for a television series about a fictional warrior princess, called Xena.

Amina was the warrior queen of Zazzau (now Zaria). She is known also as Amina Sarauniya Zazzau. She lived approximately 200 years prior to the establishment of the Sokoto-Caliphate federation that governed Nigeria during the period of British colonial rule following the Islamic jahad (holy war) that overtook the region in the nineteenth century. According to most accounts, Queen Amina ruled for 34 years at the turn of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Her domain of Zazzau, a city-state of Hausaland, was eventually renamed to Zaria and is the capital of the present-day emirate of Kaduna in Nigeria. Although many details of her life remain largely in dispute among historians, the fact that she existed is a matter of general acceptance, and she is presumed to have been a Moslem ruler. Much of what is known of Queen Amina is based on information related in the Kano Chronicles, a translation by Muhammed Bellow of pre-colonial African tradition based in part on anonymous Hausa writings. Other details were pulled from the oral traditions of Nigeria. As a result, the memory of Queen Amina assumed legendary proportions in her native Hausaland and beyond. The extent of her military prowess and her performance in battle was augmented by lore and remains unclear.

The reign of Amina occurred at a time when the city-state of Zazzau was situated at the crossroad of three major trade corridors of northern Africa, connecting the region of the Sahara with the remote markets of the southern forest lands and the western Sudan. It was the rise and fall of the powerful and more dominant Songhai (var. Songhay) people and the resulting competition for control of trade routes that incited continual warring among the Hausa people and the neighboring settlements during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. It was not until later that a ruling arrangement between the Hausa and the Fulani people ultimately brought a lasting peace to the region and survived into the colonial era of the nineteenth century.

 EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

Amina was the twenty-fourth habe, as the rulers of Zazzau were called. She is believed to have been the granddaughter of King Zazzau Nohir. Speculation suggests that she was born sometime during his reign, around 1533. This theory lends credence to the belief that Amina ruled Zazzau at the end of the sixteenth century. The citizens of Hausaland at that time displayed advanced skills in the industrial arts of tanning, weaving, and metalworking—in contrast to the inhabitants of the neighboring territories and surrounding cultures, where agriculture remained the dominant activity. The Hausa social hierarchy, as a result, was bound less rigidly in the social standings of tradition, which were based on hereditary factors.
Amina was born the eldest of three royal siblings. She was 16 years old when her noble parent, the powerful Bakwa of Turunku (var. Barkwa Turunda), inherited the throne of Zazzau. Historical accounts of Bakwa, the twenty-second habe of Zazzau, vary as to whether Bakwa was Amina's father or mother. Although the reign of Bakwa was known for peace and prosperity, the history of the Hausa people was nonetheless characterized by military campaigns for the purpose of increasing commerce. During the years between 1200-1700 Hausaland was, in fact, fraught with warring parties. These descended into neighboring territories that were inhabited by the Jukun and the Nupe to the south, in an effort to control trade and to expand the Hausa communities into more desirable environs. The Hausa, in turn, were conquered intermittently during those years by various other peoples. The Mali, Fulani, and Bornu were among the aggressors in these clashes. During the reign of Bakwa, the teenaged Amina occupied herself in honing her battle skills, under the guidance of the soldiers of the Zazzau military.

As was the custom of the region, the rule of Zazzau fell to Amina's brother, Karama, upon the death of Bakwa in 1566. Although Karama was the younger of the two, it was the male heir who took precedence in ascending the throne. The third sibling, a sister named Zaria, eventually fled the region. By the time that Amina assumed the throne, following the death of her brother in the tenth year of his rule, she had matured into a fierce warrior and had earned the respect of the Zazzau military. Amina, in fact, established her dominance as the head of the Zazzau cavalry even before she came to rule the city-state.

HER INFLUENTIAL AND LEGENDARY WORKS

BATTLE
Within three months of inheriting the throne, Queen Amina embarked on what was to be the first in an ongoing series of military engagements associated with her rule. She stood in command of an immense military band and personally led the cavalry of Zazzau through an ongoing series of campaigns, waging battle continually throughout the course of her sovereignty.

She spent the duration of her 34-year reign in military aggression. Although the military campaigns of Amina were characterized as efforts to ensure safe passage for Zazzau and other Hausa traders throughout the Saharan region, the practice proved effective in significantly expanding the limits of Zazzau territory to the largest boundaries before and since. African chronicler, P. J. M. McEwan quoted the Kano Chronicles, which stated that Amina, "conquered all the towns as far as Kwararafa [to the north] and Nupe [in the south]."

According to all indications, she came to dominate much of the region known as Hausaland and beyond, throughout an area called Kasashen Bauchi, prior to the settlement of the so-called Gwandarawa Hausas of Kano in the mid 1600s. Kasashen Bauchi in modern terms comprises the middle belt of Nigeria. In addition to Zazzau, the city-states of central Hausaland included Rano, Kano, Daura, Gobir, and Katsina.
                                  https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/71/02/79/7102798fc174a354311b8ae76e4db946.jpg
At one time, Amina dominated the entire area, along with the associated trade routes connecting the western Sudan with Egypt on the east and Mali in the north. In keeping with the custom of the times, she collected tributes of kola nuts and male slaves from her subject cities. Also, as was the custom of the Hausa people, Amina built walls around the encampments of the territories that she conquered. Some of the walls survived into modern times; thus her legacy remained entrenched in both the culture and landscape of her native Hausa city-states.

Some have suggested that a neighboring Hausa king, named Sarkin Kanajeji, held Amina at a serious disadvantage in waging battle against his army, because Kanajeji's soldiers wore iron helmets for protection. Others, however, have credited Amina with the introduction of metal armor, including the iron helmets and chain mail. It has been further suggested that she was responsible for the introduction of the new armor to the Hausa city-state of Kano. Regardless of its origin, the innovation of protective armor arrived in Hausaland during the era of Amina. Because the Hausa of Zazzau were well skilled in the metalworking crafts, it is not unreasonable to infer that Amina's army was well protected by body armor.

Some historians have credited Amina with originating the Hausa practice of building the military encampments behind fortress walls. A 15-kilometer wall surrounding the modern-day city of Zaria dates back to Amina and is known as ganuwar Amina (Amina's wall). Additionally, a distinctive series of walls wind throughout the countryside in the vicinities of the ancient city-states of Hausaland. These came to be called Amina's walls to the rest of the world, although not all of the walls were built during the reign of Amina.

HER LEGEND

Information about the history of Hausaland during the era of Amina is sketchy. Foreign visitors who traveled to Africa during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries collected many of the historical accounts of those times. Other information was garnered from the oral traditions of the descendants of the early Hausa people.

Historians J. F. Ajayi and Michael Crowder suggested that Amina lived in the fifteenth century rather than the sixteenth century. Ajayi and Crowder attribute their conclusion to information found in Bellow's Chronicle. The chronicles, which are believed to portray the history of Africa with some accuracy, date Amina back to the time of Sarki (king) Dauda whose father was believed to have ruled from 1421 until 1438. In this regard there may be some confusion with the reign of Da'ud, conqueror of Macina, who ruled from 1549 until 1582. Ajayi suggested that Hausaland suffered desperately from severe aggression from Songhai to the west during the sixteenth century, and it may be unlikely that the expansionist policies of Amina prevailed at such a difficult time. Likewise reports that Amina collected tribute from Bornu may be improbable in the context of the sixteenth century, as Zaria and many other Hausa city-states had, by that time, fallen to the control of Songhai and had suffered further aggression from Bornu to the east. Such domination by Songhai and Bornu, if depicted with accuracy, preclude the possibility that the Hausa achieved extensive domination during the reign of Amina, if indeed she lived at the end of the sixteenth century.

The dearth of facts combined with the significance of the conquests of Amina have defined a legendary persona for the warrior queen of Nigeria. According to oral tradition, Amina took a new husband from the legions of vanquished foes after every battle. After spending one night with the Zazzau queen, each man was slain. Additionally, it is common belief that Amina died during a military campaign at Atagara near Bida in Nigeria. In the twentieth century the memory of Amina came to represent the spirit and strength of womanhood. For her exploits she earned the epithet of Amina, Yar Bakwa ta san rana (Amina, daughter of Nikatau, a woman as capable as a man).

Singer SIMI Full Biography,Life And News

FULL NAME:         Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye

DATE OF BIRTH:        April 1988

OCCUPATION:            Singer: Afro Pop

MARITAL STATUS:    Not Married

INTRODUCTION

Simi is a Nigerian born writer and performing artist, Simisola Ogunleye, the female singer has been in the spotlight since the release of singles like; Tiff, Jamb Question and more....

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

Born in Lagos state Nigeria, Simi, a mass communications graduate, is no stranger to the Nigerian music industry. She wrote her very first tune at the age of 10 and started out singing and dancing in her early teens as a member of the teenage church choir. Eventually, she went on to launch her debut album in 2008, which was produced by Samklef. The album spawned hits such as Ara Ile, Ogaju, Iya Temi, to name a few. She started off as gospel with the songs in her debut album.

In 2011, she met the talented producer/songwriter (Oscar Heman-Ackah) and they both connected musically. However, it wasn't until 2013 that she officially signed a production contract with Oscar Music Production, after which they both nurtured and created a fresh and genius direction to her sound, style and music in its entirety.

See what she said when asked those things that help her make music:
I write about experiences – maybe mine or someone else’s. For instance, if you gist me about something, I could go ‘oh, that’s a song!’ I like to write about experiences – things that really happened. I like writing about things that are really interesting, things that people can identify with. Apart from that, I’m dabbling into a bit of production, though I’m not half as good as I want to be. Some people ask if the melody comes before the lyrics, but I don’t think there’s a particular way it comes. Most times, after I’ve recorded a song, I’d have to come back and work on it. But when I have my first verse and chorus, I usually consider the song completed.

CAREER AND LIFE

In 2014 via her former record label she officially get signed to to X3M Music, the Lagos-based record label which is home to Nigerian R&B sensation Praiz and others.

Simi who started singing at 16 and was part of “Outstanding” music group in her church, before she worked with Samkelf for her ‘Ogaju’ debut album in 2008 also revealed why she signed for the label; “I joined because of the structure, the team and the drive and financial backing is there and it’s a place where you have to break the norm”.
Prior to joining X3M music, Simi said, “I have been releasing a bunch of singles and covers since then to get noticed and get a good deal” and says “I want to be successful with my music”.

After getting signed to X3M Music Simi went on to release Tiff and E no go good to the public ... ‘E No Go Funny’ is a contemporary Pop club joint, infused with local drums and congas. It’s pacey and will give you the sugar rush you’ve been looking for.
Tiff was actually her most successful single of 2014 as it was already enjoying a lot of air-plays on many radio station and and massive online downloads and streams just weeks after release. The songs also got her a couple award nominations in 2014.

In sum, both songs were great firsts from her. Her first real set of singles since being signed, that is. The fusion of both offerings achieve diverse music objectives that align with mainstream industry nature and peculiarities. The tone, production and balance were exciting for a start, creating a proper springboard for bigger things to come. If there’s a metric for measuring this jumpstart.

After the successful release of her last singles – the infectious “Tiff” and clubby “E no go funny”, Simi is back with a brand new single titled ‘Jamb Question’.
‘Jamb Question’, a mid-tempo afro-pop tune sees Simi display fantastic vocals on the melodious instrumental, produced by Oscar Herman-Ackah.
Another single from her which was released in 2015 which was already topping charts was later remixed same year with rapper Falz which was accepted and loved by many. The song video was also gained views on Youtube after release.

The Mass communication graduate from Covenant University who love broadcasting and blogging says in an interview “my blogging has suffered a bit because, honestly, I’ve not had enough time to write but when I do have time, I blog about my life, my mum and weird stuffs like that”.
She also mentioned what it took her to get where she is right now:
“Nothing worth it comes without hard work. There’ve been tough days, hard days, broke days and I thank god for those moments because without them, I won’t be here now” said as regards are struggle in the Nigerian music industry so far.

She's said to be in a relationship with fellow artist Adekunle Gold but it was never confirmed by them.

Iroko TV Founder And Owner JASON NJOKU Full Biography, Life And Net Worth

FULL NAME:             Jason Njoku

DATE OF BIRTH:       1982

OCCUPATION:   Business Man;
                        Internet Entrepreneur
NET WORTH:             $30 million (2012).
MARITAL STATUS:   Married

INTRODUCTION

Jason Njoku , is a Nigerian internet entrepreneur, and is CEO and founder of Iroko partners, the largest distributor of Nigerian music and movies online. Jason studied at the University of Manchester and grew up in the UK, He is presently one of the most successful internet entrepreneurs in Africa.

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

Grew up in the U.K studied chemistry at University of Manchester.

While he was studying chemistry at the University of Manchester, he was also pursuing entrepreneurial activities. He used to run club nights, trying to earn extra cash to pay for his student life, standing outside bars until 3 a.m. handing out fliers to students, urging them to come to his nights. Sometimes people came in their droves, other times it would be just him, one or two mates and the bar staff and he came home broke, wondering what went wrong.

See What He Said About Being A Hustler In An Interview:
I’m a hustler at heart and it wasn’t a conscious decision to be an entrepreneur. It was just something I had always done and expected to continue doing after my degree. I knew I didn’t want to work for “the man.” In fact, in all honesty, I genuinely don’t think I could keep down a regular job. I’m brutally honest about the sort of person I am—curt, belligerent, intense, egotistical—I could go on. But I’m also astute, hard working (stupidly so), creative and have no fear of failure. Add up my personality traits and business skills and they don’t lead to a 9-5 job, they lead to a life as an entrepreneur.
As an Igbo boy entrepreneurship was always going to be part of what he does. He has been fired from most jobs he's had, so working for himself and building a sustainable company that held his interest was an absolute necessity. And he had no wish to work for ‘the man’. Never. Being an entrepreneur is awesome in every sense – even the challenges he face every day gives him a massive buzz and what he's been able to build in iROKO Partners over the past years is incredible. He knew that he wanted to be an entrepreneur, he knew that it would be to do with media / the Internet but he never knew it would be in the realm of african entertainment.

CAREER AND LIFE

When Jason Njoku graduated from his UK-based university in 2005, he was filled with high hopes of entrepreneurial success.
But after his business endeavors failed to take off for years, Njoku had no option but to move back to his mother's house in London.

The whole genesis of iROKO was at 29, almost 30, that was itself a harrowing experience but the interesting thing was that for the first time in eight years since he'd moved out he was actually able to see the viewing patterns of his mom has changed...She'd gone from watching western films to watching African films-- he realized there's a growing appetite for Nollywood films after noticing how his mother and other relatives had difficulties getting their hands on their beloved movies from Nigeria's booming film industry.

iROKO’s online distribution started off on the video sharing site in October 2010 after jason launched a channel called Nollywood Love. Back in 2005, According to Jason, for the 2011 financial year, his YouTube channels generated $1.3 million in advertising revenue, from a monthly record of six to eight million views; an average of $108,500 monthly. Bastian Gotter, his friend and partner, discloses that YouTube pays iROKO TV half of the ad revenue generated on Nollywood Love. “They give us 50% to cover our distribution license cost while they keep 50% to cover their infrastructure cost,” he says.

In 2010, Jason moved to Lagos and set-up iROKO Partners.
Nollywood Love was the company’s first platform, streamed on YouTube. To-date, iROKO Partners is YouTube’s largest partner in Africa. In 2011, the company launched iROKOtv, a platform to stream Nollywood movies.  The site has recorded over 800,000 registered users as of 2013, 14 million hours of movies have been watched in 178 countries around the world.

iROKO Partners was also one of the first companies in the Nigerian digital music scene, launching iROKING in 2011. The platform has almost 100,000 registered users who have access to over 35,000 tracks by 400+ artists. As of 2013
Across all the iROKO Partners’ platforms, 193,000,000 minutes of entertainment are consumed every month.

When iROKOtv launched in December 2011, users could access all content for free—all they had to do was register with them. In July 2012, they shifted to a freemium model, iROKOtv PLUS, where they started charging $5 a month for fans to access the more expensive, brand new Nollywood movies. 95% of his site remained free [supported by ads] and they also removed the registration process, The introduction of the subscription service brutalized their traffic and growth by roughly 50%, but increased their revenue prospects considerably. The sharp decline in user numbers was tough to take at the time and he agonized over whether or not he’d made the right decision to start charging for the top quality content. It turns out that it definitely was the right decision to make, in order to continue monetizing their site and providing the best possible service to their viewers around the world. It took around 8 months but they were back to the same level of users they were before iROKOtv PLUS was launched this was beginning of a huge success for him and the platform.

In 2012 Iroko TV raised $8 million in venture capital from Tiger Global Management, a New York-based private equity and hedge fund run by billionaire Chase Coleman. IrokoTV enjoys lucrative content distribution deals with Dailymotion, iTunes, Amazon and Vimeo.
In 2012, Forbes Africa named Jason as one of Africa’s Top Young Millionaires to watch. He has also been named as one of London’s Top Black Men of Power in Black Enterprise Magazine.
iROKO Partners has over 110 employees in offices in Lagos, London and New York.
His company has been said to be worth over $30milllion in 2012.

In 2013 Jason started a program called SPARK, a program meant to help young internet entrepreneurs build the platforms they want on the internet.
Iroko partners and Jason's influence in the internet industry of Nigeria at the moment is at its peak, in 2015 a program was also launched to discover young internet engineers(programmers), there is a contest organized for this young programmers (mostly students) every month in which the winner of the contest goes home with 1million naira cash reward.

He got married to popular actress  Marry Remmy in 2012 and had a child in 2013.

Jason has a blog that he writes his mind and share his personal ideas to his fans, url: http://www.jason.com.ng/

His advice for young entrepreneurs in the making:
"Don’t wait around – the sector is in its infancy but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to move quickly. There are a lot of people out there who are smarter than me, who have an Ivy-league education and who have great ideas to start up a business, but something is holding them back and they are voyeurs rather than entrepreneurs. My advice to young entrepreneurs is this: don’t wait for the day when you’re reading about YOUR idea in the business pages. Do it now. Break free from the shackles that hold you back and start your business today."
