EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

Dammy Krane was born to an Oluwakemi Osodi (who was a
manager in the fuji music industry at the time). The apple
doesn’t fall far from the tree as Dammy began cultivating
his knack for musical expression at an early age of six,
singing in his church’s children’s choir. Dammy grew up
listening to the likes of legendary Fela and Femi Kuti,
Lagbaja, King Sunny Ade . He is also influenced by the
sounds of modern greats like 2Face , And D’Banj.
Starting music at age 6, joined the children’s choir
and ministered in various churches.

He started singing when he was six, joined the toddlers’ choir in
church when he was only eight. He was doing back up songs
and dancing for other artistes at the age of 11.

His parent were not supportive of his choice of choosing music over academics; besides, he had not seen his mum
for 10 years until 2013.

where she is an event manager and manager to some Fuji
artistes. He is from a polygamous family, the only child of
his mum but he was brought up by his grandmother.

When he was in Redeemers University, he
was a local champion there. He used to do a lot of free styling

lot of universities. It was a Fuji pop song. The buzz created
by the music got him a job as the face of Dynamix
magazine.

His university Redeemers uni don’t support entertainment and that was why he left school. He

microbiology. He even ran away from home, though he came
back. He was then living and working in different studios which is
what you would classify as a studio rat. Leaving school was
a risk he had to take and he hope to go back someday to study
business management this time around.

In his first days in university in 2010, Dammy decided to
take his “hobby” a little more serious and surprise the
industry with his ability to merge all genres of music.
Dammy’s efforts have not gone unnoticed by industry
watchers. He was nominated for Dynamix Awards
2010-Rookie of The Year, Encomium Top-Ten Most
Promising Acts and Peak Awards 2011-Next Rated Artiste back then.

In 2012, there was a party at a
hotel in Victoria Island where a number of artistes were
invited. One of his friends Iyad, a white guy was also invited
so he took him along. Iyad later invited him over to a corner
where he sat with Tuface. And Tuface mentioned that he had
listened to some of the collabos he did with other artistes and
also watched one of his performances. He then asked if he
was signed on to any label. And Of course he was not and Tuface
signed me unto Hypertek Records.

His first song, ‘My dear. brought him to limelight in 2012 That song was
inspired by the fact that he had been doing a lot of collabos
and people were asking for a single and he actually released released a bangs for then after getting on hypertek records.
He calls his type of music the 21st century music and it’s a fusion of Fuji, hip hop
and R&B. Some people call it concoction music but je don’t
mind.
The singer does not believe in competition in the industry so he doesnt even think about it. He
believes that once you are in the industry, your focus should
be how to make yourself relevant. His success in a short
while can only be attributed to God, His family and his fans.(according to him).

Dammy continued releasing a lot of club bangers since his major break in the industry which has increased his fan base a lot making him a well loved artist.

Born Bukola Elemide, Aṣa was born in Paris, France to her Nigerian parents. Her family returned to live in Nigeria when she was two. Aṣa grew up in Alagbole, a border town in Ogun state near Lagos, in the south-western part of Nigeria. Twenty years later, Aṣa returned to Paris where her life as an artist took off.
Aṣa was the only female child in the family and had three brothers. At a tender age she began to look after the house during her parents' frequent absences. This is when Aṣa started to sing. Over the years her father had built up a fine collection of records featuring soul classics and Nigerian music, including Marvin Gaye, Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Aretha Franklin, King Sunny Adé, Ebenezer Obey and Lagbaja and Asa went on to draw inspiration from them.

Asa was a lonely child. The family, her brothers, Africa….and yet: she didn’t fit into the usual clichés and was often sad, feeling out of place in childhood, even more so in the world of adolescence. She was different, and music became an escape route as well as a
daydream. Asa would sometimes go to the park with her bothers to sing and dance, but more often took refuge in an imaginary universe that was her’s alone. Decked out in a wig borrowed from the maternal treasure chest, a tube of cream serving as her mike, revelling in the freedom of no one watching her, she sang Michael Jackson and Bob Marley hits and greeted an imaginary crowd…

“I was a tomboy and when I was a teenager I became very shy because people made fun of me…in my own way, I was already attracting attention! I got in the habit of never doing anything like everyone else. People didn’t understand my low-pitched deep voice, the choirs didn’t want anything to do with me. I had to get to church first if I was to have any chance of getting near the mic!”

Asa fought back. Against rejection, against the ups and downs of a life where, to achieve what people call happiness, she had to sacrifice everything. She was twelve when her mother sent her to one of the best schools in the country. But educational excellence had a bitter taste: five years of studies and hardship. When she came home, she discovered Erika Badu, D’Angelo, Rafaël Saadiq, Lauryn Hill, Femi Kuti and Angélique Kidjo, in whose footprints she dreamt
of following. At 18, Asa was very familiar with frustration. The university was on strike, the choirs were snubbing her. Nevertheless, she managed to get her voice heard on a few radio talent shows and her first applause brought her boundless pleasure. She then signed up, in secret, for the Peter King’s School of Music and learnt to play the guitar in 6 months.

CAREER AND LIFE

In 2004 Aṣa met her manager and friend, Janet, who introduced her to Cobhams Emmanuel Asuquo, who in turn became her musical partner and producer.

Asa finally returned to Paris. This was her chance to test out her talent on the French musical scene, playing with artists such as the Nubians, Manu Dibango, Doctor L and Tony Allen. In the meantime, back in Nigeria, her first single, Eyé Adaba, then Jailer, were beginning to get airtime. MTV chose her as the ambassador for South Africa, her popularity was growing and, when she went back, she opened for Akon, John Legend, Beyoncé and Snoop Dogg amongst others.

Asa soon signed to the Naïve label. Partnered by Cobhams, and with the new involvement of Christophe Dupouy, she produced a magnificent eponymous album: the music’s grace reflects its tempo, humour is never far from emotion, the melodies are unstoppable, the young singer’s voice and energy testify to her enormous talent. The flautist Magic Malik is also featured, shedding his light on the eleven tracks, where the almost magical simplicity of the way the melodies get under your skin should not hide the richness of the arrangements: elegant strings, perfectly placed drums and percussion, guitar — her favourite instrument — along with the Hammond organ playing the field between funk and soul. R&b rubs up against pop, with reggae also making an appearance on Fire On The Mountain, the first track released from the album, an impertinent and barely-disguised metaphor for an ignorant and indifferent world. Anyone who refuses to pay attention to the sparks will have no choice but to run when the fire breaks out. The fire, it’s the conflicts we neglect because there is no oil at stake, but it’s also the paedophiles, domestic violence and poverty on your doorstep, and so on. Asa expresses her bittersweet point of view on the realities that move her in different forms, from daydream to nose-thumbing to SOS. Her aim is, of course, to transmit positive values, but also to put words to the things that hurt: Jailer, another highlight of the album, reinterprets the old adage
“you reap what you sow”. This emblematic song with its irresistible refrain opens the album by denouncing modern slavery in all its forms. Asa combines these committed pieces with messages of hope: Eye Adaba (dove in Yoruba) where her voice takes on a fragile air to echo the acoustic guitar, 360, Peace, No One Knows… So Beautiful, a vibrant homage to her mother, Subway and Bi’Banke which take an original and insightful approach to love, full of
strength and sensitivity. Sensuality intertwines with spirituality, rebellion with wisdom, on an inspired and optimistic first album. Highly personal and totally universal, Asa’s music will undoubtedly cross all frontiers, not just geographical, but also those of the heart and soul.

Back in Nigeria, her first single, "Eyé Adaba," then "Jailer," were beginning to get airtime. Aṣa soon signed to Naïve Records. The release of the album saw Aṣa win the prestigious French Constantin Award in 2008, where she was voted best fresh talent of 10 singers or groups by a jury of 19 music-industry specialists in Paris.

Her second album, Beautiful Imperfection, was released on 25 October 2010. The lead single from Beautiful Imperfection is titled "Be My Man" and was released in late September. A video for the song was released in mid-October. She also performed with Féfé at the Sydney Festival in 2011.

Asa is an artist who is much more based in Paris than her country Nigeria, she was accused of being gay in 2012 as she was even charged with Lesbianism in the court even though she denied not being gay. The controversies arose when she said she has nothing against Lesbianism in which she haven't been seen with a boyfriend or a male lover of any sort which made people jumped into that conclusion.
In 2014 Asa released a new album "BED OF STONE" which didn't do well like others have done. She also mentioned she finally found the love of her life and she also didn't reveal if it is a male or female.

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

9ice attended Abule Okuta Primary School and CMS Grammar School, and dropped out from his Law course at the Lagos State University to concentrate on music. He grew up in a polygamous home of five wives and nine children. His parents found about his singing career a year after it started around 2000. Before then, 9ice wrote his own songs dating back to when he was just 14 years old. It is worth noting that as a big fan of Pasuma Wonder, he kick-started his singing career with Fuji music. He derives his inspiration from his environment, and music from the likes of Ebenezer Obey, King Sunny Adé, Tatalo Alamu, Late Alhaji Ayinla Omowura, Late Alhaji Haruna Ishola.

After recording his first demo, 9ice joined a group called Mysterious Boys with whom he did a couple of tracks before going on to form his own, now defunct, group Abinibi. Having recorded his first demo titled Risi De Alagbaja in 1996 and his first solo song, Little Money in 2000, 9ice had to wait till 2005 before himself and his music started gaining recognition in the Nigerian music market.

CAREER AND LIFE

The first major break for 9ice came from his first single title Little Money and not long after then he did collaborations with different Nigerian artist that immediately prompted the release of another hit single title Ganja Man. Id.Cabasa produced Ganja Man which was released with other songs in March 2006. The reggae tone and playful style of the song made it an instant hit. 9ICE released different kinds of hit songs in his first album made by him and his producer I.D cabasa, the biggest hit among the songs in the album was GONGO ASO which was one of the biggest single of the year in 2007 after winning multiple awards with same song same year.
9ice first album did so well which brings about the songs like Little Money, Ganja Man, Make Dem Talk and Music Daddy. Gongo Aso' which became the title of his second album. In that effort, 9ice recorded songs covering success, originality, partying and women, as well as themes on the institution of marriage and gratitude.
It got to the media that the star singer left the record label "CODED TUNES" which brought him to stardom which belongs to I.D cabasa but after 9ice departure it was said they both had a fight for a longtime before they later made it known they are doing cool saying the've moved on.

9ice earned himself a position among the top reigning musicians ever in the industry as he always give his fans multiple hits since his break into the industry which actually has got him a lot of reputation and more fans.

Since late 2007 9ice has featured prominently across Nigerian campuses in the Soundcity/MTN Campus Blast tours, Mandela's 90th birthday in London (Hyde Park), Lets Go There Tour With Ariya Entertainment in NY, LA, Chicago, Houston, Maryland 2008, Star Mega Jam 2007 – 2010, London Troxy 2008, 2010. 9ice performed at the Nelson Mandela 90th Birthday Tribute concert (singing "Gongo Aso") in London on 27 June 2008.[1] All these shows and concerts were sold-out events. He also headlined sold out shows in the Netherlands and Malaysia in October 2010 to mark his country's 50 years independence anniversary. 2010 was also the year which 9ice embarked on a European tour covering some parts of Italy, Spain and Switzerland. 9ice also performed live in Cyprus at Lions garden where many if not all the Nigerian students where in attendance.

9ice is known for his use of the Yoruba language in his music, but mixes the Yoruba proverbs with English, broken English, Hausa and Ibo sometimes. 9ice compares himself to Youssou N'Dour who has won a couple of Grammy with music recorded in his mother tongue, and Yvonne Chaka-Chaka whose music has also embraced her language. He has been quoted as saying "English language has been imposed on us but God graciously gave Yoruba language to us.

Singer 9ice was married to Tony Payne a marriage which later came to an end in 2010 after it was figured she was involved in infidelity.
It was revealled that the couple broke up because 9ice heard that Tony had dated lots of people in the music industry without telling him. A source in the music industry revealed that before their marriage, Tony dated quite a number of prominent musicians and one particular producer but failed to tell 9ice. Unknown to 9ice she had also dated some of his friends too and it was not until after a year into the marriage he discovered. The incident led to constant arguments and eventually ended their marriage.

In 2014 9ice said he was quitting music for politics he went for the House Of Reps but he was defeated in the primaries even though he had a lot of supports from fans and lovers.

Mayokun Awodumi la(May D) was born in Lagos, Nigeria to a family of seven (5 boys).
He hails from Ekiti State Nigeria.

A University of Lagos Mass Communication graduate, May D's romance with music started with him watching Micheal Jackson as a kid and later grew with his frequent mime performances while he was in King's College Lagos.

He started building his career as a member of a dance and singing duo called “Just Us” in secondary school. Whilst still a student at University of Lagos and after his partner relocated to the UK, he continued developing his art; recording songs, performing at shows until he got a big break, getting signed on to Square Records.

While he was in Just Us, he used to sing and put their songs out on the radio. Then, they were just doing it for the fun of it. Their friends would call them and tell them they heard your song on the radio and they’d be so excited.

It was fun to them because they were really young. At some point, Ope left to London to further his education and he went to Unilag where I he some guys who noticed him and offered to help his career. The studio was somewhere around the campus. He was there for about two years just making songs but they never put it out. One day he left those guys and started doing his own thing; putting his songs on CD, sharing it to people and that was how he met Alaye when he performed at the “2Face and Friends Tour with MTN” in Unilag.

CAREER AND LIFE

It was gathered that May D was signed to Square Records in the year 2011/2012 and has released few hit tracks under the label including ‘Ile Ijo’, ‘Soundtrack’ that went viral, and the remix he did with Akon and P-Square 'Chop My Money'.

May D released another single SO MANY TINZ in February 2013 with the video released a couple of months later. It was themed after the popular American movie Django Unchained.
May D collaborated with MAFIKIZOLO, a South African based duo signed to KALAWA RECORDS, on one of their more popular songs HAPPINESS off their 2013 Album REUNITED. He is also featured on DJXclusive’s 2013 hit single ‘NO TIME’ which also has Tillaman and Skales on the song.

His debut album titled CHAPTER ONE was released on May 10th, 2013. The album, which has 20 songs, has been well received. A concert for the album release was held in Abuja on the 26th of May, 2013 at the Thisday Dome. The launch was supported by Davido, Reminisce, Olamide, Iyanya amongst others. There are ongoing plans to have a concert for May D in Lagos sometime in 2013.

May D has performed in different parts of the world. Some of these places include Cyprus, London, Paris, Congo, South Africa, Cameroun and Cotonou to name a few places.

But another source says he has been working with the popular duo secretly for about 4years until the final split between them in the year 2013 after Square records unexpectedly release a statement showing that he is off the record label in which he doesn't even know until he saw the press report online which according to him he was really freaked out and amazed.

According to the 'Ile Ijo' crooner, he woke up to hear that he is no more officially with the label.

No one really knows the relation between Paul and Peter Okoye and Mr. May D, but that Akinmayokun Awodumila is the first signed recording artist to the Square Records label. Ever since the signing of May D, fans have grown to love the Afropop singer and his swaggerific dance moves displayed in the 'Ile Ijo music video.

The breaking news about May D departing Square records, came days after the Okoye's buried their late mother, Mrs. Okoye on the 2nd of August 2012.

According to Jude 'Engees Okoye, the CEO of Square Records/Northside Entertainment, the reason for dropping May D from the record label is due to "irreconcilable differences".
Further more, to investigate the depth of the situation, Nigeria Music Networkobserved that May D's YouTube Channel (OfficialMayD) has been closed down and all music videos disabled on the platform.

May D, who was initially scheduled to perform at the LoveAfroBeats festivalin London alongside P-Square and Wande Coal, was missing in action.

One thing led to another he added me up on BlackBerry and told me a studio in Lekki he would like me to run, that he has heard my works and he believes in me. The day we scheduled for the meeting Praiz and Iyanya were with him, he was managing them at that time. The next day we made a song which is Moblak’s song with Iyanya ‘She Wants It’, the chemistry between me and Iyanya and Praiz was mad, Iyanya just tapped me on my shoulder and said we gonna make history together my G! Ini Edo hails from Akwa Ibom and she loves acting, has acted since she was a child in church and at school, and even though she studied theatre arts at the University of Uyo, she did not see herself becoming an actress! She was thinking of going into law or television. Nollywood at that point had not yet taken off. But one thing led to another and she found herself acting in a film. Both she and others were pleased with how well she did.

Well, her father was not so pleased, not at first. He wanted her to get her degree first. And besides, she was just 19 at the time, a young woman. To become a film actress meant going to a city far away where she knew no one. He was afraid people would take advantage of her. But it all turned out well in the end: a film director saw her talent and took her under his wing and looked out for her like a father. And she did get her degree too, from the University of Calabar, though it was not easy to balance acting with her studies.

Some actresses feel like they have to sleep with the producer to get ahead. She thinks that does not work in the long run, not as well as hard work and talent. Men came on to her all the time when she was single, but she did not let them turn her head: she knew what they all were after.

Ini Edo is an Ibibio from Akwa Ibom state in the south-east, not far from Calabar. Her mother was a teacher and her father, a church elder. She had a strict upbringing, the second of four children, three girls, one boy.

She graduated from the University of Uyo where she got a Diploma in Theatre Arts. She also completed her Bachelors Degree program at the University of Calabar where she studied English.

WOULD YOU BRIEF US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY BACKGROUND?

Born into the family of chief/lolo adolphus amaechi, being the last male child.

SO WHAT ABOUT YOUR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND?

I finished my primary and secondary school early, though hardly to believe, but they called it gifted hands, my waec both science and art was distinction and few credit, i rolled into a tertiary health institution, but having plans to further more at university of calabar for medicine and surgeon soon.

SO YOU FINISHED SECONDARY AT WHAT AGE? AND CURRENTLY IN WHAT LEVEL IN UNICAL?

I graduated from secondary in 2011 and got admission Last year.

YOU ARE CURRENTLY KNOWN TO BE ONE OF THE YOUNGEST DOCTORS IN THE EAST POPULARLY KNOWN AS A GYNECOLOGIST WHAT OTHER MEDICAL WORKS DO YOU ENGAGE IN?

Well, as GOD may have it, aside from being a gyno specialist, i work in a dispensery wards, also a medical consultant and medical advicer

WOW THAT'S GREAT, SO HOW COME DO YOU KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THIS MEDICAL PROBLEMS? WERE YOU THOUGHT AT SCHOOL OR SOMETHING?

Well, the word "impossibility, i think it is the only word for the fool, believe me, with GOD on your side, it is quite possible and moreover, hard work and grace have been my little secret, though most night, i read from 4a.m in the morning till 6pm and consult lots of medical researches just to build my brain because i have an aim and dream.

SO YOU GOT THE SKILLS BY MEDICAL RESEARCHES AND STUDYING?

Yes, but i think i am GOD's gifted hands according to some p.hd holders and other consultant i have met in my life.

SO WHEN DID YOU OFFICIALLY STARTED THIS MEDICAL WORKS? WHAT AGE AND YEAR?

That was 2011 and i was about 18 to 19 years, then managed by a medical doctor because the law was not in support of that due to our constitution said that my age is too tender to own such an institution. unless i reach the age of 20yrs

NOW YOU HAVE YOUR OWN HOSPITAL OR SOMETHING?

#laughing, well, as GOD may have it, not to boast, i own SUNNY MEDICAL aba Sunny medical aba, a health outfit which is now trending here in aba, abia state and it environments.

WOW.. THAT'S GREAT YOU HAVE YOUR OWN PERSONAL MEDICAL LAB..

Yes but i am not a lab technician, but i employed 2 lab scientist.

SO WOULD YOU TELL US FEW MEDICAL WORKS YOU HAVE DONE THAT HAS GOT YOU THIS MUCH ATTENTION AND REPUTATION?

well, many to mention, but gynecological aspect of medicine brought me to limelight because most infertile women termed to be barren, went to many doctors but no avail, when directed to me, i treat them, place them on certain medications, GOD on my side, when they meet with their husband, they become pregnant.

CAN YOU BE MORE SPECIFIC?

As GOD may have it,i could remember, i treated a patient with high cerebral malaria,, after taking lots of drugs yet no avail, so she was directed to me by a friend, GOD on my side, i gave her some prescription, after 6days, he was completely alright.
second one that brought me to fame was an unfertiled woman seeking for a child, after 4years in marriage, she has tried so many hospital, when directed, she didn't believe in me, after convincing her, i started giving her some treatment as gifted gyno specialist, after some months on my drugs, i treated the husband also with low sperm count, after some months, she went to lab, she was tested positive (pregnant) she felt joy and they gave a testimony at their church, since then, people now need ma attention." and more like that.

WOW.. THOSE WORKS ARE REALLY GREAT SO WHAT'S YOUR PARENT'S REACTION TO THOSE WONDERS YOU'VE DONE?

I believe they are impressed, u know, seeing their lad doing well, ya, it have been a dream of every parents.

SO HOW HAS THIS CAREER HELPED YOU FINANCIALLY?

a lot, and it has really help me acquire huge investments.



yes, you know, i don't believe in boasting, that was the reason why i said a lot, the laboratory have gone a long way in helping patients to be diagnosed, oh, did i tell you i got toyota highlander 2014 model (check the picture on one of my profile pictures with 70 LIKES when uploaded) GOD OVER EVERYTHING!

WELL, THERE ARE MANY CONTROVERSIES ABOUT YOUR AGE ONLINE, MOST PEOPLE STILL BELIEVE YOUR AGE IS LESSER THAN 21 DUE TO YOUR LOOK WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ABOUT THAT?

To be concise, its the truth but hardly believed. and i keep saying" impossibility is the only word found in a fool's dictionary, with GOD, all things are possible.
i could remember when i won an award, the media houses came, while interviewing, they asked my age, i told them and they were like" WOW! YOU ARE TOO YOUNG, WHAT IS THE SECRET, that is my age, i was born 31 october 1993

SO SPEAKING OF AWARDS, WE LEARNT YOU RECENTLY WON AN AWARD AS THE YOUNGEST DOCTOR WOULD YOU TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT THAT?

No, just orthodox medicine, just orthodox medicine.

OH.. EVEN THOUGH I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS I WILL SAY YOU ARE DOING GREAT, SO DO YOU DO THIS MEDICAL CARE ALONE OR YOU HAVE PEOPLE SUPPORTING YOU?

I have, lol, i can't be jack of all trade, i employed about 2 nurses and i have got a laboratory scientist who carries out laboratory test, so i do come to office when i feel i need to be presence.

WOULD LOVE TO ASK WHERE DO YOU CURRENTLY RESIDE?

I reside in aba, abia state nigeria.

DO YOU STILL LIVE WITH YOUR PARENT?

No, GOD gave me my own apartment, though my parents do pay me a visit on request.

Yes i have but it is a none governmental organization poised at helping the less privilege who don't have much money to treat themselves, hence you are one, my receptionist will issue you my secrete card, with the card, you will receive free health care services only at sunny medical aba, but on severe cases, we personally direct you to hospital. so i think that is the little secret why GOD is blessing me.

lol, yes, but as GOD may have it, i am getting new plans to have more branches outside abia state, which includes imo state, akwa-ibom and bayelsa, very soon!

Well, i like reading especially medical books, researching early in the morning to keep me enlighten, most times though on interval, i enjoying watching my fan club manchester united play, full of fun, lastly i chat on facebook because i have gotten thousands of friends who keep adding, and am trying to cope because most time i don't reply them all due to many messages.

Umm.. INTERESTING I MUST SAY.. SO ANY YOUNG PRETTY LADY IN YOUR LIFE PRESENTLY?

funny! well, though much anticipated and overwhelming, am still single and not searching, just want to focus on my career first, after am true with my investments ahead, i can now settle down, though i have little admirers, i respect them but my dream first.

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

He was the first Male child from a family of seven from Ifon, Ondo state, AY was born and bred in Delta State. He had a very humble and unassuming start, parlaying his charm and talent to a successful career in the Nigerian comedy scene.

He gained fame through impersonating Rev. Chris Okotie in his hilarious jokes, and by 2006, when he began; he was named the Best Up-Coming Comedian in Nigeria.
That wasn’t AY’s first award. The gifted comedian holds an enviable record of being the first student to direct a convocation production in the history of the Theatre Arts Department of the Delta State University, where he graduated in 2003.

In his campus days, he received many awards including: The Most Fashionable Student on Campus (1999 and 2000); The Most Celebrated Student on Campus (2001), Best Showbiz Promoter (2001), Jaycee Club Socio-Cultural Personality Award (2003), and The Most Celebrated Theatre Arts Student (2003).

Presently, AY has taken comedy out of the box. He writes the column, Going AY-Wire every Friday on The Sun Newspapers, (Nigeria’s most circulated National Daily) and every month he writes Jokes Apart in Gbenga Adeyinka’s monthly comedy journal, Laffmatazz. He presents The AY Live on The Morning Drive every Friday from 6am to 10am on Rhythm 93.7 FM, Lagos.

CAREER AND LIFE

Ayo Makun came into spotlight after being Alibaba Akporobome's personal assistant and event manager. A.Y also wrote going "A.Y wire" as a guest columnist in The Sun (Nigeria)and Gbenga Adeyinka's "laugh mattaz".

AY has become the ‘father’ of many upcoming acts and established acts that are doing well in the industry, through the monthly AY’s Open Mic Challenge that holds every third Sunday, at The National Theatre, Lagos.

The AY Show, arguably the best Comedy Show on Nigeria TV, shows on AYTV which airs daily on HITV across the country, and all over Europe winning BEST TV COMEDY SHOW in 2008, and has since been a must watch. He publishes Nigeria’s first comedy magazine, and he hosts (across the country, too) the usually out-sold comedy and music concerts AY Live.

Twice, AY Live has broken and set enviable record standards in comedy events in Nigeria. In 2007, he held Lagos spell bound when the second edition of AY Live, Lagos Invasion drew a record crowd forcing him to do two shows instead of one, as planned. Ayo Makun directs and acts in one of Nigeria's popular sitcom, AY's cribwith Alex Ekubo, Venita Akpofure, Buchi Franklin and Justice Nuagbe. He also hosts one of Africa's largest comedy shows, AY live featuring other comedians like Bovi, Helen Pauland many other comedians. He married Mabel in 2008 and they are blessed with a daughter, Michelle.

In 2014 A.Y wrote and produced a movie titled "30 days in Atlanta" movie which before released has got many Nigerians attention.. Shot in the U.S and also got many nominations before release.

Born in the early 80s. I have a B.A in theatre arts and I've always been in the entertainment business.

My late father, Adeyemi Afolayan was a film maker. He made several (cinematic) films to his credit. He partnered with a friend named Ola Balogun together they shot the first film ever known in the history of this country. He's one of the pioneers in Nigeria. He was popularly called ade-love. My mum retired as a school teacher. It's a great legacy. Great family.
